Voor een management consulting bureau -gevestigd op de Zuidas Amsterdam- zijn wij op zoek naar een Management Assistant. Dit is een tijdelijke functie vanaf juli voor een periode van 5 tot 6 maanden.
De organisatie heeft ca. 60 medewerkers en heeft ongeveer 1.500 consultants voor haar werken in Nederland en Engeland.

Aangezien het kantoor een Internationaal karakter heeft wordt de vacature in het Engels beschreven. We gaan er vanuit dat sollicitanten de Engelse taal machtig zijn. De voertaal op kantoor is Nederlands, maar de Assistant dient de Engelse taal goed te beheersen.
De partner voor wie een Assistant wordt gezocht heeft een energiek en extravert karakter en staat positief in het leven.

De voorkeur gaat uit naar iemand die 5 dagen per week inzetbaar is, maar 4 dagen is zeker bespreekbaar. Het betreft geen opdracht op uitzendbasis. Er wordt direct een contract aangeboden bij de opdrachtgever.


Management Assistant


Our Benelux Office, founded in 2008, focuses on: (1) Developing excellent and enduring relationships with Dutch clients and potential clients

(2) Scoping and delivering impactful projects

(3) Identifying and staffing the right consultant(s) for projects

(4) Recruiting outstanding consultants based in the Netherlands and Belgium to join our ’talent pool’

(5) Continuously monitoring, expanding and upgrading the quality of the talent pool

(6) Recruiting and developing outstanding Analysts and Associate Consultants to support our projects

The Assistants in the Benelux Office support either the client or the consultant side of the business, working with our 3 Client Partners, 1 Associate Partner, 1 Operations Director and 1 Senior Manager.

We are recruiting an Assistant to focus primarily on the support of one of our Client Partners, as well as supporting the office more broadly.


Role description:

This person will support our Client Partner and Dutch team by doing the following:

1. Support Client Partner

 Meetings:

- Diary management

- Meeting set-up, including agenda preparation, setting-up conference calls, etc.

- Support in preparing presentations for clients/other audiences

 General support:

- Answer/screen telephone calls

- Support in following-up on open action points, sent e-mails, etc.

- Manage expense claims

- Take ad-hoc responsibilities signed over by the Client Partner to relieve their workload and ensure they can focus on high priority issues

 Over time, become the right hand of the Client Partner, increasingly playing a larger role



2. Project support

 Manage project administration and budgets, including:

- Support pre-project scheduling of interviews for consultants at potential clients, ensure proper set up for consultant (business cards, email address, etc.)

- Calculate project team running costs and project budget

- Project administration when project won (contracts for both client & consultant, update system)

- Ensure all internal/client financial processes aligned (payment conditions, Purchase Orders)

 General (ad hoc) support of consultants on projects where appropriate/needed


3. Office Management

 Welcome visitors, and host them until start of the meeting

 Handle incoming post

 Manage travel arrangements

 Coordinate and update the information we keep about our clients, suppliers and others and follow up on missing information

 Finance (check payment conditions, prepare and send invoices, chase debtors and general finance administration)

 Take ad hoc responsibilities signed over by the Operations Director to release her workload where appropriate

 Coordinate Benelux Office activities with London Office, where relevant

 Collaborate with the other Assistants on specific company initiatives and events


Key skills and attributes

 Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, professionally and persuasively, both internally and externally at all levels. Reflected in:

- Well developed verbal and written communications skills (in both Dutch and English)

- An open, outgoing style


 Excellent relationship management skills reflected in a proven track record in building and maintaining good relationships


 Able to deal with the pace and complexity of the role, and to prioritise/multi-task


 Comfortable and accurate with numbers and an attention to detail


 In addition to being proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet for research purposes, candidates should be willing to learn and use our bespoke contact management database


 At least 3 years relevant professional experience


Key information:

Salary: €40-€42k (including vakantiegeld. Geen 13e maand)

Plus discretionary performance and profit-sharing bonus

Hours/Days: 9.00-18.00 (with an hour for lunch/breaks) 5 days/week

Holiday: 5 weeks per year, which must include the week between Christmas & New Year

(the office is closed)
